IDC has a specialized team of writers dedicated to ABS (as-broadcast) scripts and Pivot Dialogue lists. There is a specific format that must be followed and the scripts need to be perfect. Sometimes they will be used for foreign dubbing and other times they are archived for future use.
ABS Scripts and Pivot Dialogue lists have a particular turnaround and that is based on how long the content show runs: 30min, 60 min, 90 min or feature length. Often the team works on early locked cuts and when final proxies are ready, tweaks are made to match any changes that have occurred.
Master QC is performed by our team of experts who diligently scrutinize A/V materials by detecting technical defects and production errors prior to delivering to our clients. We offer quality assurance evaluations for digital releases, including 4K/UHD and HDR assets, as well as verification of Digital Cinema Packages, Blu-ray, and DVD releases.
In addition to, IDC-LA offers a variety of QC packages including Master QC for level J2K file with M&E Integrity QC, Video/Audio fix checks, and Video/ Audio tech specs verification (w/ QC report).
We have a team of domestic operators that check content for text, which is specifically English caption files, English subtitle files, and forced narratives, as well as English Audio Description. We have a multitude of international operators for asset QC that specialize in timed text assets, captions, subtitles, and secondary audio.
IDC Sound specializes in sound design, voice over/music recording, audio editing, ADR & Foley, 5.1 surround mixing/conforming, multilingual dubbing, and layback for Television, Film, Multimedia, & Interactive.
IDC in house seasoned staff of AD writers meticulously describe on screen actions & plot pertinent details for the visually impaired audiences to enhance the user’s listening experience. Providing this service for both English and Spanish content, IDC has produced thousands of hours of described content from concept through completion by not only writing the detailed scripts themselves, but also by casting the voice talent, recording on site at our facility, as well as editing & providing the final mixes.
As an early adopter, IDC has been on the forefront of optical media production since its inception. Whether mastering an audio CD, DVD or Blu-Ray disc, IDC’s Multimedia department will guide and assist you in building a custom product from concept and packaging design to short-run duplication or pre-mastering for large-scale replication. Our talented team creates and authors projects with interactive menus, alternate audio tracks, animated graphics and subtitles/captions. We also re-purpose existing content and provide many other custom feature options.
IDC specializes in English voice dubbing from foreign language content as well as providing foreign language dubbing to/from a variety of languages.

With the new television display technologies such as OLED and Quantum Dots, HDR (High Dynamic Range) video can take the end-user viewing experience to both new heights and depths in breathtakingly realistic visualization that was never before possible. IDC-LA has been designed and calibrated to accurately extend the director’s vision from the production facility to the living room as intended. Dolby Atmos is a new sound technology created by Dolby Laboratories and is an audio delivery format that virtualizes audio into objects that can be aurally mapped into a 3D space. Dolby licenses the technology to motion picture studios and post-production facilities that meet it’s high standards and IDC is proud to be a part of that exclusive group. By establishing calibrated surround playback setups into a standardized configuration, Atmos mixes played back in any Atmos environment will sound the same and present the listener with precisely accurate positional awareness of all audio program elements.
Studios such as IDC have established certified mixing suites specifically for both mastering of original programming and the remastering of legacy content to give end users an immersive, dynamic audio experience. Some examples of recent feature films mixed in Dolby Atmos are The Lion King and Rocketman.
IDC’s state of the art equipment room houses a large array of legacy tape formats. These include: 1 inch, ¾ inch, Betacam, Betacam SP, Beta SX, Digital Betacam, MII, D1, D2, D3, D5, DVCPRO, DVCPRO HD, DVCAM, HDCAM, HDCAM SR, XDCAM, HDV including audio formats DAT, DA88s. IDC assists networks, content owners and distributors with large libraries to digitize their content.
